First good bird of 2016 - this Wood Duck found at Dale on 13th Jan

The bird was frantically  feeding inbetween bouts of preening and had no rings on either tarsus - good credentials for a genuine migrant. Disappointingly, it was only present for two hours.

Followed by this Long-billed Dowitcher on 24th - in a roadside pond.
